Moving your Minecraft server, from $5 a month

Bring your world with you

Coming from another host, or from a singleplayer world? Zip the world’s folder and upload it from your server’s Worlds page. Your builds, inventories and advancements come along, and the world it replaces is kept, not deleted.

What you get

All of it comes with every plan, from the smallest up. Nothing to install by hand, nothing extra to pay.

  • Your world, uploaded

Choose the zipped world on the Worlds page. A backup is taken first, the server restarts on your world, and the one it had moves to a folder of its own. Up to 4 GB zipped.

  • Plugins and mods from Modrinth

Add them again from Mods & Plugins in a click each, or tick up to 10 at once. What each one needs comes along.

  • Modpacks too

Install the pack from Modrinth or FTB, or upload a CurseForge pack's server files, then upload your world on top.

  • The version you played on

Pick the same Minecraft version from Settings before the world goes in, so it opens just as you left it.

  • Your settings

Difficulty, game mode, PvP, the player limit, view distance and the server list message are on the Game settings page. Anything else in server.properties is in Files.

  • Your players

Add the whitelist, operators and bans by name on the Game settings page. Everyone's inventory and ender chest are in the world, so they come with it.

From paying to playing

  1. On your old host, stop the server and download the world folder (world, and world_nether and world_the_end if it has them) as one .zip. For a singleplayer world, zip its folder in .minecraft/saves.
  2. Pick a size and pay. Then set the same Minecraft version from Settings, and the same software from Mods & Plugins.
  3. Add your plugins or mods from Mods & Plugins, or install your modpack.
  4. On the Worlds page, upload the .zip. The server backs up, puts your world in and restarts. Send friends the new address.

Good to know

  • Zip the folder with level.dat in it. Paper and Spigot keep the Nether and the End beside it, in world_nether and world_the_end: put all three in the one zip and they all come over.
  • Worlds only move forward: a world from an older Minecraft is updated the first time it starts, and one from a newer Minecraft than the server's won't open.
  • Plugins keep their own data, like homes and land claims, in the plugins folder rather than the world. Small files can go back in from Files, up to 4 MB each.
  • The zip has to fit in the plan's storage, beside the world it replaces, which is kept until you delete it from Files.

Your friends could be on tonight

Pick a size, pay, and send them the address. The server is up about a minute after, and you can change size whenever you like.
