Modpack hosting, from $5 a month
Modpack servers, from Modrinth, FTB or CurseForge
Install a modpack from your server’s page: the pack brings its own loader, mods and Minecraft version, and the server sets them up. Modrinth’s and FTB’s packs are one click; CurseForge packs come from the server files their makers publish.
What you get
All of it comes with every plan, from the smallest up. Nothing to install by hand, nothing extra to pay.
Modrinth and FTB, in one click
Search Modrinth's packs, or flip to FTB for FTB's own, about a hundred of them, like StoneBlock and Skies. FTB's installer fetches the exact version and checks every file.
CurseForge packs, from their server files
Download the pack's Server Pack .zip and pick it on the Modpacks tab. Your browser reads which loader and versions it needs, uploads it, and the server installs it; it's kept a week, so a failed install can be tried again without uploading again.
A memory check before you play
The server's page shows what the pack's mods need against your plan, including FTB's recommended memory, and warns when it's too small.
Your friends get the same pack
A Modrinth pack's player pack is the pack itself, with your server in the list; FTB packs send friends to the pack's FTB page.
Client-only mods, left out
Some packs wrongly ship a mod that only works in players' games and stops servers. The crash card says which one, and you list it under the pack's skips.
Nothing lost on the way
Installing a pack takes a backup first and moves the old world aside rather than deleting it. Keep a modpack and a survival world side by side as two Worlds on one server.
From paying to playing
- Pick a size from the ones below. Big packs want more memory, and the Realtime CPU tier sets two cores aside for them.
- Open Mods & Plugins, then Modpacks, and pick a pack from Modrinth or FTB, or upload a CurseForge server pack.
- The server backs up, installs the pack and starts. Big packs take a few minutes more the first time.
- Send friends the address and the player pack, or the pack's page.
Which size?
One block for every GB of memory. Here’s what some typical servers need, from the same rule as how much RAM you need. Move up or down a size any time; the world comes with you.
- A light pack, 50 mods, 4 playersneeds about 4.1 GB
Stone5 GB · 20 players$12.50/mo - A mid-size pack, 150 mods, 6 playersneeds about 7 GB
Ice8 GB · 35 players$20/mo - A big pack, 250 mods, 8 playersneeds about 9.9 GB
Lava10 GB · 45 players$25/mo - A huge pack, 400 mods, 10 playersneeds about 14 GB
Diamond16 GB · 75 players$40/mo
Good to know
- Packs from anywhere other than Modrinth and FTB, most of CurseForge's, need their Server Pack .zip; packs without one can't be installed yet.
- A pack's Minecraft version is the pack's own; the server runs the Java that version needs.
- Newer server files for a CurseForge pack can replace the old ones and keep the world, as long as the loader and Minecraft version are the same.
- Have a Modrinth pack as a .mrpack file, your own or one that isn't listed? Upload it on the same tab.
